Year 1, day 212: No further alien attacks since the Starman Jr, though the wild animals driven mad keep scratching at the walls. Thankfully, being driven through their inner darkness by Gigyas also made the crows a lot stupider than real-life crows so they didn’t fly over, but we still have to go out and clear them out every once in awhile. This is the closest I’ve gotten to training I’ve gotten regarding my PSI powers. I can put them to sleep now, which makes throwing them back into town a lot easier. …I just realized how that could be misinterpreted, I mean I have Hypnosis Alpha now.
Naturally, the others in the house help, though Anita doesn’t come forward, acting as the last line in case anything gets by us or they catch us by surprise and we’re in trouble. It’s not because she thinks she’s too good for this, I’m certain. From what I can tell from our interactions, I think she’s put a shell up around her, or at least struggling to connect. Something I’m definitely going to have to address before this is over.
I have no idea where Ness is or how he’s doing, but I trust he’s doing fine. Well, that’s a bit of a fib. If I wanted to know, I’d just have to go find him. The Saturn Table could take me anywhere on the continent at an unending gallop. But I didn’t want to know. I didn’t want to have to care. I just wanted to be a nine-year-old kid living life for once. Is that so wrong?
